A new bug fresh out of the oven!

Currently this behaviour was observed with Marcy Pop at Workshop and would affect 1$ passcode owners. Her option for changing between states is "Get Naked" in both cases, regardless of current appearance. It does switch them as intended, but might be a bit confusing for players. I'll update this post if I observe this behaviour being tied to either Marcy Pop or Workshop specifically, but otherwise NPCs in other stations seem to be unaffected and their dialogue option for clothes change is as intended.

Update: ??? happened to be next Workshop NPC and her options work as intended, so the issue is likely with Marcy Pop. She didn't "pop" in any other buildings for me today though, so I can't verify if her chat option remains broken in other buildings.

Update 2: Marcy Pop has her options displayed correctly in Bank/Exchange station, so at this point I assume that the issue is specifically Marcy specifically at Workshop.

I tried checking this, and sadly, I wasn't able to reproduce this error. I'm sorry.

I'll look into it again in the future when I get the chance.

All is fine. In hindsight, I should've made a recording back when I encountered it so I'd demonstrate it. Might've been just me as well, because who knows what brainlag can do to a person. If I'll stumble on it myself again, I'll make a recording next time.

Marcy Pop bug spotted yet again! This time in the Style Shop, however. I am still not entirely sure why and what would be the reason. I guess she really wants to get naked, even when she already is. Now with video recording to prove that I'm not crazy.

Thank you for finding and sharing this. I'll look into it when I get the chance.

You're welcome. Also today the same behaviour was spotted with Marcy Pop in Boost Station. I did record it, but well... its basically the same, so I hope its okay that I'm not attaching the recording link (but do ask me if you need it). I'll keep monitoring her behaviour across other stations.

Though I honestly don't know with that girl and her insistence on being naked. Maybe there's a message she tries to deliver, asking for more skin getting exposed? Give her a mini bikini or something, maybe that'll satisfy her and get her behaviour straight.

Update: ironically, despite initial report of this behaviour was observed in Workshop station, this no longer seems to be the case and Marcy Pop acts normally there with a proper prompt. That is quite vexing.

Update 2: "Naked" behaviour with Marcy is now also observed in Gallery building.

Update 3: behaviour is NOT observed in Bank/exchange building.

Update 4: "Naked" behaviour with Marcy is now also observed (and recorded) in Boost station.

Update 5: "Naked" behaviour suddenly observed and recorded in Workshop, despite initial report of it not being present. I am so confused now.

Hypothesis: The issue might possibly be related to the state of Glitch City rather than the stationing of Marcy Pop?

It’s been a while since I’ve taken a look at this so I’m confused as to what you mean by “it's impossible to 100% collect all items.“ Are items the term for the weapon cards?

(-1)

There are multiple items in the entire Gallery: Cards, 3D, Enemies, Artworks, Store Items, etc.
The message was added because I noticed that there are a few people who are trying to 100% collect them all and end up frustrated because the amount of effort to do this is ridiculous.
Unfortunately, the Gallery is not designed to be collected at all. It's simply a place for people who want to look at certain items in detail.

(+2)(-1)

is that a challenge?

>Gives all things in the gallery stat tracking and several milestone conditions.

>"It's not for collecting, guys! Gosh! >n<"

If you didn't want people to chase them, you wouldn't have made them the way they are. You can have stat tracking without making it a chore list entry, you know that right? You can just have everything be a viewable gallery from the get-go and not all be unlockables? I can get behind it being like an endgame reward or w/e, but you're not making a good case for yourself by trying to deflect your own manufactured problem. I can give you help in terms of direction on how to fix everything (and more!), if you'll just listen.

While it's true that I made a design flaw with how the Gallery was set up and I want to change them, sadly, to me, changing and removing them will be disrespecting to those who already gave time and effort to achieve them. It's like giving them a gold trophy for making them lose so much time, then take them back because "oops, my bad". I'll look for ways to improve this in the future where their efforts will still be recognized while making the new players not need to work too hard, however, this will take time for me to balance and test. The best I can do for now is to remind everyone not to 100% collect the Gallery. (However, I can still see there are very few people who find 100% collecting it a challenge. I guess there are many kinds of people in the world. It's hard to please everyone, really.)

It is far from impossible to please everyone. You just need to know how to layer it all correctly. In the future, remember to always separate statistics and goals. A goal should be something the player is going to achieve at some point, so make them count. And statistics should be de-gamified in general. Statistics should tell you just that, the statistics. It shouldn't grade you, it shouldn't score you. If people want to be graded on it, they can grade it themselves. They can set their own goal posts and their own limitations on how they'll reach them. As for side-quests and stretch goals, people don't need them. They'll say they want them, but in the end they don't if the main goals are taxing enough (which you have to then also balance with the casuals, the hardest part of the process imo). The system in place that you have for it works perfectly, play the video game, get bits, unlock more shit with said bits. Rinse and repeat. You literally do not need more than that? You just need to refine that process and converge it in the end. Everything that can be unlocked, should be unlockable with bits, and the rest is just statistics told to you in a non-judgmental way, inviting the player to impose their own judgement as they see fit. That way, no matter how you play the game, you will eventually finish it, and you will please everyone. The people who want to 100% will get there overtime, the ball-busters who love to shank themselves can aim for their own insane scores, the casuals will still cross the finish line at a comfortable speed, and the virtual crack cocaine addicts (the idiots who want achievements and challenges and 500 billion collectibles) can go die in a ditch, they genuinely don't deserve access to the internet. :P

I can go into great detail on the things that could be added that I promise people would enjoy if you'd like?

Finally, a helpful post from you instead of just your usual hate-filled antics.

And you made valid points as well. Your description is great to make sure players who aren't aiming for big won't feel pressured into reaching higher standards and feel judged.

However, that's exactly what I did with Nude Byte. (Or at least, that's what I thought)

I made sure the result report in every battle has no S/A/B/C ranking (compared to our previous game) so people won't feel pressured to reach higher scores. (I mean, even casual games have those 3/4-star systems at every level, and they're casual games!)

There are no side-quests in this game, though. So, I guess that's not applicable.

I adjusted the card collection to make sure it's easier to collect compared to before, so people can level up easier for gameplay benefits. (There's even an Alter feature so you can collect more)

The Gallery is designed to be separated, ensuring it's 100% optional and meant for those Gold/Silver/Bronze seekers who want more than just what the game has.

Or, at least that's what I thought, until I realized I made "Tasks" that are related to the Gallery, making it slightly mandatory instead of optional. This is something I need to adjust to make sure the Gallery is an optional feature. (My intention with those tasks was to

familiarize the player with the Gallery. I don't plan to add more tasks for that place in the future)

Perhaps the misconception that people may have been misled is that once a player reaches Rank 5 and completes all tasks, the game is done. Sadly, because there is no UI or credit roll or presentation that says this, people are left thinking they need to do more, thus making them look at the Gallery when they shouldn't. I need to make adjustments to this part.

However, judging by the way you talk, we sadly don't share the same passion when it comes to achievements and challenges. I myself enjoy these. Splatoon (the game this is highly inspired by) has achievements with Gold/Silver/Bronze, and I always try to collect them for my own enjoyment. (I never reach any Gold ones though, since they're impossible for me, but that's fine with me. They're optional, after all. And people getting these and showing them off online deserve to show them off because it shows just how good they are.) And this is something I want to replicate for my game. This is unfortunate for you, though, since you clearly hate them.

And sadly, I won't change my vision for my game for a few people who don't like it. As I mentioned, I can't please everyone. I may suggest that you play other games that align with your likes instead of forcing mine to adjust for yours. After all, there are many other pervy games that are much better than Nude Byte. You don't need to force yourself to like my game, and that's completely understandable. (And leaving hate-filled messages here and there will, unfortunately, only make you look like you're trolling instead of sharing your thoughts and helping)

After all, that's how Nude Byte was made. I wanted a Splatoon game that would align with my likes. But instead of forcing Nintendo to change their game (because obviously, they won't), I made my own instead.

However, you made valid points regarding the mandatory and optional features. Someone else pointed this out before, and I may have missed a few details. I'll look into these.

I'm glad you're able to share helpful insights this time. While it's unfortunate that I can't apply everything you said, you at least did your part and tried to help, even if the result isn't entirely what you're hoping for.

I have had problems with the sorting of cards in the tangent twins loadout menu. When a sort option is pressed it gives the option to the right if sorting by stats. (atk becomes def)

Thank you for reporting.
However, I double-checked this problem, and it isn't happening to me, either using Keyboard/Mouse or Gamepad.
I'll try to check this problem another time.

Please add the diffrent body shapes as a shop item! If not that, please add some kind of indicator wich body shape a doll currently has since its really hard to tell sometimes.

Sadly, the body types can't be changed. They're assigned to specific dolls, even the ones you don't own.
I can probably add an indicator, but I'm not sure how yet.
